Hi Maris,
A MS in Embedded Systems is difficult to find, it will be mostly included as a specialization for a MS ECE program. But, you should check the following, they are also a PG level programs.
Graduate Certificate - Electronics and Embedded Systems Development by Fanshawe College
Graduate Certificate in Embedded system development is offered by Conestoga College
There is another one at Lambton College:

For embedded system programming expertise on assembly language is required. C language expertise help to learn any high procedural programming language. It is a good programming language to learn.

It's good to know that you are doing BE. No, your 2-year drop will not matter at all if you desire to pursue study in VLSI. If there is a break in studies, we sometimes tend to loose thread of studying. However, as famously said 'where there is a will, there is a way'. Just do not worry and go ahead. Best wishes.

There are very good potentials with Embedded technology. Huge demand in auto mobile engineering, Medical manufacturing industries even other companies.
Whereas, IT as a filed is relatively easier than doing Electronics. There are also very good potential after doing B-Tech IT or computer science.
