Yes, it is possible. PSUs generally recruits on the basis of GATE scores.

It is around Rs.15000 to Rs.30000/month, as IT companies like TCS, Infosys and Wipro do recruit mechanical engineers. You can try to crack GATE and get into any PSU. In PSUs average package is around Rs.6 to Rs.7 LPA.
