As such their is no any special railway branch. Railway board recruit it from different branches engineering graduates like civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics and computer however first three branches have more vacancies.

Following are the options to become engineer in India :
(a) BTech after +2 stage with PCM from a recognized board.
(b) Diploma in Engineering after 10th class. You can take lateral entry in 2 year of BTech after Diploma.
(c) Membership exam by AMIE or IETE etc.
(d) Few universities allows lateral entry of BSc graduates into BTech or integrated MTech programs.

To be a Marine Engineer one has to pass 10+2 exam in science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. There are many institutes in India which conduct this course.
