A minimum of 60 marks is good enough to get a job opportunity. There are various opportunities in ECE, you can go for various IT companies which asks for 60 all through academics. You can also go for MBA after graduation. MBA colleges not only look at marks but also give priority to extra-curricular activities.

Thapar University-Patiala has very good Placement record in CS dept. A separate Computer department is in process, which has almost all kinds of facility/course/labs related to computer. It depends upon your course/branch.
Like, if you are getting chemical in Thapar University and ECE/CS in Jaypee, then you should go with Jaypee.
Branch matters more than college.
Both are private universities.
If you want to pursue same course, then go for Thapar University.
Thapar University has good placement records and is old private university.
Even, it's NREF ranking is quite ahead of Jaypee.
Best wishes.

Both the courses are good. If you want to be Doctor, I suggest you to go for BAMS. As you have not specified any particular field of Engineering, It is difficult to answer.
