Engineering Scope

Vidhya, amongst all branches of engineering, the range and application of civil engineering is the broadest and the most visible. In fact, the entire infrastructural framework of a modern nation is the creation of civil engineers. The credit of building mighty power plants, dams, airports, sea ports, highways, inland waterways and industrial plants goes to civil engineers. These professionals are also engaged in building an unending array of urban structures such as commercial complexes, skyscrapers, tunnels, bridges, roads, urban rapid transport systems, sports stadia and so on. The nature of this profile makes it an evergreen prospect for career minded youngsters. There is an endless demand for this job profile both in the private as well as in public sector undertakings in our country.
Both of them are good but what is important is your choice. If you are somebody who wants to sit in an AC office then of course ECE is better but if you are somebody who doesn't mind working in the field then Civil is very good options. These days Civil students are also getting good offers.
Now the most important thing is the university/ college that you choose for your degree. These days we have many good government as well as private universities like IITs, IITTs, NITs, LPU, SRM, etc offering admissions in different engineering branches. Some of them offer admission just on the basis of tests like JEE and some offer you admission on basis of their own tests as well as direct admission too on the basis of your marks in previous qualifying exam.
