To score excellent marks, you should ideally start preparing for the BTech Marine Engineering entrance exam at least 8 to 10 months before the final exam is supposed to take place so that you can cover the maximum chunk of the exam syllabus and have a good amount of time for revision at the end. You should also practice previous-year question papers and mock tests to increase your chances of getting excellent marks and being shortlisted for admission.

The Marine Engg. course duration varies on the basis of the course level at which you plan on studying the course. For UG courses, the time span is generally 4 years, while for PG courses, you need to invest at least 2 years to get a strong hold over the advanced concepts of the maritime field.
You can even opt for a diploma in Marine Engineering that is usually 2-3 years long or certificate courses that may last a few months to 1 year. If you want to explore the maritime industry and love to research, you can also opt for a PhD degree in Marine Engineering or a related field which is mostly 3 to 6 years long.
