For 2026 intake, Indian students should apply between December 2025 and January 2026.
Scholarship applications are part of university admission application. So students must apply before the admission deadline of 2026.

The best way for Indian students to find on or off-campus housing near Aalto University is via AYY (Aalto University Student Union) and HOAS (Foundation for Student Housing in the Helsinki Region) portal. These offer affordable student apartments (EUR 600 per month). Students can contact them via email.
One can also check private student rentals in Finland or get in touch with Indian student groups in Finland using social media. It is advised to apply for housing early as the demand for student housing is high.

Carry only the essential items like clothing, electronics, medications, and some personal documents. Mentioned below are the items Indian students need to carry:
- Documents: Passport, Finland student visa, admission letter, tuition fee payment receipt, travel insurance and medical records
- Clothing: Thermal underwear, winterproof and waterproof jackets, gloves, hats, longsleeve thermal shirts and durable walking shoes

No, students cannot defer the start of their studies at Aalto. The Finnish Universities Act does not allow the same.
However, exceptions to this (parental leave or illness) do exist. To know more about exceptions to this rule, students are advised to check the Enrolment page for Stauatory absences on the official Aalto Uni website.

For now, the Aalto University does not offer scholarships that cover living costs. The university only offers financial cover for tuition fees. Students will have to rely on external scholarships to study in Finland that may cover a part or the complete cost of living.

Yes, in addition to the tuition and living costs in Finland, students also need to pay a Student Union fee worth EUR 66 (INR 7.2 K) and a student healthcare fee worth EUR 70 (INR 7.63 K) per year.
The student union fee can be paid via the Aalto University Oodi system while the healthcare fee is paid directly to Kela via the Omakela online service.

Yes, Aalto Uni offers several online fee-based courses to students via its official website. The online degrees carry the same value as an offline degree plus these are even more affordable.
