Yes. After completing your M.Tech in Signal Processing you can appear for both SET and NET tests. The first is the national Eligibility Test. For the SET, candidates must have a Master's degree recognised by UGC and for general category applicants as minimum 55% marks are required (50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates. 23. Some students would find it very easy because of their passion and inclination towards the field of instrumentation, control systems, and electronics, and their experience at the college where they pursue the course. You can definitely take lateral entry admission directly to the second year of BTech in Instrumentation Engineering at some popular colleges in India after completing a Diploma in Instrumentation Technology or Engineering, which spans 3 years. You should have decent marks of around 50 to 60% in your Diploma final exams and also clear the entrance test for admission that is usually required by a few universities.

For UG Instrumentation Technology courses, you should have at least 75% marks in Class 12 in the PCM subjects. If you belong to the reserved category, the marks eligibility for you will be 65%. Apart from that, you have to appear for the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams and get good marks, which will serve as the final call for admission.
Once you get a good rank in JEE Advanced, participate in the counselling for seat allocation based on your rank. However, for PG Instrumentation Engineering courses admission, the eligibility criteria is 60% marks in your bachelor's degree and clearing the GATE exam.

The course duration of Instrumentation Technology courses varies depending on the course level. For UG Instrumentation Technology courses, the duration in India is 4 years in general. Further, for PG courses, the duration is 2 years. If you want to enter the work field at the earliest, you can go for a diploma in Instrumentation Technology right after completing your Class 10, which is 3 years long.
Moreover, a PhD course in Instrumentation Technology can be 3 years to 6 years long, depending on your research topic and the institution offering the doctorate program.

There is no particular rule when it comes to the age requirements for pursuing Instrumentation courses in India, but generally, it is seen that students who opt for a BTech degree in Instrumentation Engineering are mostly between 17 and 23 years old at the time of taking admission. For PG courses, they are usually between 23 and 27 years.
