Hello V Nageswara, spot counselling in Telangana engineering colleges or for that matter anywhere else is almost same process. In this, the branches and the colleges along with vacant seats are displayed. Those students who have not accepted any allotment are allowed to take part in this spot counselling and accept the seats amongst the vacant ones, invariably on first come first serve basis. Hello Piyush, yes I too had seen this news item. I will like to bring out to you silent features of how percentile is calculated. It involves knowing the maximum marks and the minimum marks scored by the students appearing for a particular slot along with the total number of students who appeared in this slot. As you can guess this information is available only and only with the body which conducts the exam. After such percentiles are calculated for each of the slots then and then only the ranking is found out. Thus you will SEE that no one else but the exam conducting body only is in a position to calculate your percentile and ranking
