Yes, you can. Physics and Chemistry are the compulsory subjects while Chemistry, Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject are the optional. As per the eligibility criteria of JEE Main for admission in NITs/ IIITs/ GFTIs, Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 75% marks in class 12 or equivalent exam or they must be in the top 20 percentile in their class 12 examination. For SC/ ST, the eligibility is to obtain a minimum of 65% marks in class 12 or equivalent. So JEE Main considered the aggregate marks of 12th in place of aggregate marks of PCM subjects.

You have not write about the course level. However, B.A. (Journalism and Mass Communication) of three years duration can be done after 10+2 with minimum 50% of marks with English. While the M.A. (Journalism and Mass Communication) of two years of duration can be done after the Graduation with minimum 50% of marks. Therefore, you can do B.A. (Journalism and Mass Communication) course on the basis of your 12th score.

Distance engineering Diploma courses are not valid if done through the distance/ correspondence mode. Hence, never go for them.

If you have completed Diploma in Engineering, then B.Tech lateral and part time are the options. AMIE is another option recognised by MHRD. BE / B.Tech part time or distance courses are not valid as per AICTE guidelines. Hence, never pursue them.
