Definitely, mechanical being an applied branch is better. CSC is a tool training so you need value addition after B.Tech.

Manufacturing sector is improving day by day and so is the future of this branch. India is focusing on manufacturing sector a lot. There are many colleges in Chennai that provide manufacturing courses but the dedicated college is IIITDM Kanchipuram. You can also go for private colleges like VIT, SRM, etc. MIT Madras also provides this course.
