In VSAT, there are 120 questions which are in multiple-choice format. 30 are from Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Biology, and English or Aptitude respectively.

You can get one of the top 10 IITs for 747 marks.

As cutoffs change every year you have a high chance of making to top 10 IITs for 747 marks for CS branch.

You should put 

IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee as your top targets or preference.

Also you can get IIT Kharagpur.

No, as per the VSAT exam pattern there are no questions from topics such as logical reasoning, verbal ability, and basic analytical. Candidates will now find questions from the English/Aptitude section. They will find questions from PCM / PCB.

Each subject be it Maths/Biology, Physics, Chemistry, carries equal weightage, with around 30 questions per subject. However, there is no mandatory rule to attempt all the questions.

Yes, the University of Houston MS in Petroleum Engineering course is considered a good choice. UH is ranked exceptionally well by U.S. News & World Report for the Petroleum Engineering course in 2025. It ranks at #7 position in 2025. Students with a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or any other Engineering discipline such as Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, etc. are recommended to apply. The university states that taking admission to this course is very competitive.

Students preparing for the VSAT exam must cover these topics such as Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Optics, Electromagnetism, Modern Physics, and Motion to cover for Physics section. Students with basic 10+2 understand can prepare for the exam. These topics are based on NCERT guidelines.

To check the VSAT syllabus, candidates can visit the official PDF available on the Vignan University in the admissions section. It is also included in the information brochure for easy reference. The syllabus will consist of the subjects, topics and sub-topics on which the question paper will be based.
