Even the placement scenario of the B.A. (Hons.) English programme is promising and varies according to individual performances. The average remuneration paid to the students is around INR 5 Lacs per annum, with assistant editors, copywriters, and teachers being commonly placed. The university does have a dedicated placement cell that also facilitates job opportunities for the students and hence does not guarantee 100 percent placements. It encourages students to do internships and develop skills with a view that helps in having better prospects of employability in this competitive job market. If you meet additional conditions, such finishing your undergraduate or graduate degree with at least 50% of the possible points (which is comparable to the CGPA standards) from an accredited university, you can apply for Gauhati University's B.Ed programme based on your 4.5 CGPA in MA English. The Gauhati University B.Ed Common Entrance Test or GUBEDCET, is the basis for admission to the B.Ed program. It evaluates subjects relating to education, general English, general knowledge numerical ability and reasoning.

To be considered for final selection you must register for the GUBEDCET meet the merit-based cutoff, and take part in the counseling process.

York College of Pennsylvania recognizes several English proficiency exams, which are accepted only for international students. These constitute: 

1. *TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)* - A score of 78 is the least required.
2. *IELTS (International English Language Testing System)* - Overall band score of 6.0 is the minimum requirement.
3. *Duolingo English Test (DET)* - One is required to score at least 105
4. *Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic)* - An individual needs to score a minimum of 53 and above.
5. *GTEC (Global Test of English Communication)* -  Minimum score of 1189 is required.

In case you score below the aforementioned minimums, you may however be given academic accommodations or support such as additional time on tests as well as assistance with writing.
