To meet the UCLA English requirements, International applicants must take the IELTS test with an overall band score of at least 7.0 is required for PG. However, the minimum requirement for UG is 6.5 with no bands less than 6. A minimum score of 80 for TOEFL is required for UG programs and 87 for Postgraduate Programs. The iBT also has a separate section score expectations; Writing (25), speaking (24), reading (21) and listening (17). However, we suggest the applicants check the university's official website for more information and to avoid last-minute confusion.

At Fordham University, international students whose first language is not English must demonstrate their proficiency through English Language Proficiency test results. MET English section syllabus will be similar to the General English section of the 12th standard qualifying examination. The prescribed syllabus will cover all of the topics that has to be studied to assess the ability to grasp the fundamental concepts of English language, grammar and usage. The syllabus includes Subject, Tense, Pronouns and Determiners/ Use of proper articles/ Prepositions, Linkers, Commonly confused pair of words, Sentence structure, One-word substitutions, Usages in English Synonyms/ Question Tags and Sentence completion. 

If the applicant is not a native speaker of the English language, they are required to prove their profciency in the language in order to study in Hofstra University.
