There are no fixed marks, you should have pursued the highest Marks amongst the applicants applied for the course. Depends upon the demand for the course, the admission move forward.

Yes, you can still become a lecturer by qualifying the NET exam after completion of your M.A. It does not matter if you have completed your MA from Open University, all you require is that university should be a recognized university and you have completed the post-graduation with a minimum required marks. NTA conducts the UGC NET exam twice a year for candidates who want to make a career in lectureship. After qualifying the UGC NET exam you can directly become an assistant professor in any of the top UGC recognized universities across India. The minimum eligibility criterion required for the candidates is to possess a Bachelors degree in English or relevant discipline from a recognised university with a minimum aggregate score of 60%. Admission in M.A. English is done based on the entrance tests.

English medium would be best from the perspective of the exam of M.Sc but many students also choose Hindi also but in future point of view I would suggest English medium would be the best.
