Fashion designing is the art of designing clothing, fashion, accessories, etc. They design garments which are functional as well as attractive and in keeping with trends, market predictions and the climate. They have knowledge about fabric, weave, draping qualities, material, color and design and the changing trends.
On the other hand, the apparel designing is a more technical term pertaining to the specific act of creating clothing from nuts to bolts.They are trained in fabric printing, dyeing, embroidery and design development. They work as design developers, color specialists, hand painters and printing supervisors.

To start a career as a fashion designer, two types of qualifications are required:
1. Natural: this skill set would comprise of a decent aesthetic sense, colour expertise, good taste and sense of trends and fashion. An eye for detail and knowledge of fabrics is also important.
2. Acquired skills would be a qualification from a decent, recognized fashion Institute. You can enroll for either a full-time course or a part-time certificate course.
