Video Editing is a technical field for which candidates should have knowledge of various video editing tools and software. Hence, without a formal education in video editing, one cannot make a successful career.
Many colleges which admit students to editing courses offer less number of seats and candidates must appear in the entrance examination in order to be eligible for the course. Moreover, candidates must have studied Visual Communications or Film Studies or Film Making at the undergraduate level in order to be eligible for Master's courses.

The salary offered to a Video Editor varies depending on the project they are working for as well as the company for which they work. As per Naukri.com, on average film and video designers earn between INR 25,000 to INR 75,000 per month. A Title Designer is someone who is responsible for creating the opening title sequence and title cards for a television show or film. A title designer is also responsible for creating end credits for the film/video piece.

Exposure which is basically the technique of altering camera settings to achieve the intended look of an image is one of the most important problem that the cinematographers face.
Cinematographers are responsible for the visual execution of the director's vision. They collaborate with the director to achieve the desired look and feel of the film.

In India, the duration of the Cinematography course can differ from 3 months to 3 years and that totally depends on the level of the programme that you choose from.
- Courses leading to a Diploma or certificate: 6 months - 1 year
- Programmes for Undergraduates: 3 - 4 years
- Postgraduate Studies: 1- 2 years
- Short-term Workshops and Courses: 1 week to months

To be a professional Filmmaker or Director, one must hold a degree in Filmmaking Courses such as B.A. Bachelor of Fine Arts BFA or B.Sc. A Certification or A Diploma in Filmmaking may also work in some cases, but that must compensate for the amount of experience you have in the field supporting the outstanding exposure to the field.
