Various certification and approval procedures apply to food in India. The importer must register every import with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). The same process of food registration is shown in the Food Safety and Standards Regulations, 2017.

If you wish to opt for the BTech Food Technology course, you should have passed Class 12 in the Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology/Biotechnology subjects, with at least 50 to 60% marks. Further, you must appear for and clear relevant BTech Food Technology entrance exams conducted at the national/state/university levels every year for admission to BTech courses in various specializations including Food Technology.
