IITs

B Tech (Hons) in Agricultural and Food Engineering at IIT Kharagpur

  • Students must have passed Class 12 from any recognized board with at least 75% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.
  • Students should be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (including all categories) in B.E./B.Tech paper of JEE Main 2025. Qualifying the JEE Advanced exam is also important.
  • Students must have been born on or after October 1, 2000. Five years age relaxation is given to SC, ST, & PwD candidates, i.e. these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1995.

 

M Tech Food Technology

  • Students with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology from educational institutions approved by AICTE/ Government are eligible to apply, given they have scored at least 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale.
  • Students with a B.Tech. Degree from IITs with a CGPA of 8.0 and above can also apply without the GATE score.

B Tech Food Technology

  • Students must have passed Class 12 from any recognized board with a minimum of 75% scores in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology subjects.
  • There is no age limit for the candidates.

 

M Tech Food Technology

  • Students must have passed Bachelor's degree with at least 60% marks.Students must secure 6.5 CGPA or 60% for GEN-EWS, whereas 6.0 CGPA or 55% in case of PwD candidates.
  • They must have a valid GATE score of the year 2023 / 2024 / 2025.

  • He/She must be a citizen of India.
  • Student's lower age limit must be 17 years as of 31.12.2025. Student must have been born on or before 31.12.2008. There is no upper age limit.

 

M Tech Food Technology

Students must have completed B.E./BTech Food Technology/Chemical Engineering/Biochemical Engineering or a related degree with at least 50 to 60% marks in graduation.

 

PhD in Food Technology

Students must hold a master’s degree in Food Technology or a related field with at least 55% marks and clear relevant entrance tests.

JEE Main Syllabus

Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are the three courses covered in the JEE Main syllabus. Both theoretical and practical component are included in physics. Physical, Inorganic and Organic Chemistry are all types of chemistry. The subjects covered in Mathematics are from Classes 11 and 12.

MHT CET Syllabus

MHT CET exam is of 300 marks which consists of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology of 100 marks each. It gives 20% weightage to the syllabus of Class 11 whereas 80% weightage to Class 12th syllabus. Therefore, its syllabus is slightly different from JEE Main with respect to the weightage of both exams. 

GATE Syllabus

The syllabus for GATE varies across various disciplines and topics such as Verbal Ability and Numerical Ability are the common topics for all papers. Moreover, the syllabus for various specialisations is of graduation-level and candidates ability to solve reasoning and numerical questions are also tested through this examination.

KEAM Syllabus
