Hi Ravi,
Animation is a visual technique that provides the illusion of motion by displaying a collection of images in rapid sequence.
Game design on the other hand is a subset of the Game development which involves designing at multiple phases like environment, game play, storyline, rules, effects etc.
If you plan to pursue a career in either of the disciplines, you can refer to the following link to know about the institutes which can train you on the same:

Hi lalit,
Visual effects (commonly shortened to Visual F/X or VFX) involve the integration of live-action footage and generated imagery to create environments which look realistic, but would be dangerous, costly, or simply impossible to capture on film.
For instance, a movie that shows the hero jumping off the ground and flying into the air, is created using VFX. Almost every single movie these days uses VFX. Similarly in game design, there are certain set of backgrounds, or stunts performed by the character that maybe beyond reality, hence the use of VFX.

Hi Anu,
Most institutes have a different provision for admission based on courses (full time / part time / long term / short term / fast track etc.). You need to contact the institute officials personally for specific admission details and fees as it differs from one college to another.

Monica, Like most of the people, I could tell you that XYZ is one of the best and go read online about it. I could tell you to search the youtube for 'best animation faculty' or 'best animation institute'. However these are only some of the methods of shortlisting. There is no such authentic one list of institutes that i can give you. All institute branches have same curriculum, like all states in India follow the same constitution. By same comparison all state progress differently and after a certain time the gap becomes huge. You could do well to create a list of places you may want to learn at, whether they are in your city or not.
