Yes, though Distance colleges offering Genetics courses are very limited in India. However, Madurai Kamaraj University in Madurai offers Diploma in Human Genetic Disorders. It is a PG Diploma course with 1-year duration and the course fee is INR 12,000.

The recruitments in Genetics are both from the private and public sector. However, the public sector acts as the dominant one. One can get jobs in various national parks, wildlife sanctuaries and also work as an animal breeder.
