In class XI, the syllabus covers mostly the topics related to physical geography and that of class XII mostly have topics related to human geography.

Geography is divided into two main areas which are human geography and physical geography. I would suggest you to give more focus towards human geography for its preparation. In that, you must study more about Indian geography since it is more asked in any entrance exam for geography.

Sociology, geography and psychology in the order of preference for BA (Hons.). Rather than weightage what matters is your child's interest and skills to be successful in whatever she chooses. Research, education and management all sectors will be open for her.

The Presidency College, which is the most prestigious college under Calcutta University has a cut off of 80% in the department of Geography.
