Some universities in India provide PhD for NET qualified candidates and those with an MSc qualification in Remote Sensing and GIS. The universities some of which provide such opportunities are: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, University of Delhi, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. These have research opportunities available in Geography, Remote Sensing, GIS and allied fields. One is advised to review the specific eligibility, admission processes, and research areas of each university before applying.

At JIS University, the eligibility criteria generally require candidates to have Maths in 12th but since you have Geography as a core subject, chances are that you are going to be eligible. That is because some institutes recognize Geography as a related subject for Geoinformatics.

Ever since you didn't attend Geography in twelfth, it is usually good to have Geography as a domain subject in CUET, as the examination checks knowledge and aptitude with respect to every subject.

It is a well-known fact that a lot of universities allow students to take domain subjects as per their preferences and not necessarily according to courses done before by the students.

However, you should always verify the eligibility criteria for individual universities you are applying into; some may have specific eligibility criteria attached to prior study of particular subjects.
