If you want to pursue your career into research than the regular study will be consider but if have good years of experience with your distance mode degree than you reach your goal in more time but you need to invest ur hard work and commitment for your subject and take experience in practical approach too.

Hi Amit,
As for eligibility, you need to be a graduate in relevant subjects from a recognized university in India. You would need to write an IELTS exam and possible also a GRE as most universities require the same.
Also, since it is a rather niche course, I would recommend you to check whether it is offered in English or not. If not, you would also need to clear German Language Exams.

Yes, geology is a good option after Class 12. Since this field has not been explored by many people, you will have more job prospects and most importantly you will get an option to travel. Pursuing a BSc in Geology can open doors to many options for you. For instance, you can opt for further studies like a Master's or even a Doctorate in Geology.

To become a Geologist, aspirants should have completed the Masters' or Research programs in Geology.
I would suggest you for M.Sc Geology. The eligibility criteria for which is holding a Graduation degree in any discipline. However, many of the reputed Universities demand graduation degree with Honors in Geology / Psychology / Sociology or Geology as one of the subjects studied in Graduation from any of the recognized College / University.
Some even ask for a minimum of 45-50% marks in graduation as qualifying criteria to secure admission in this course. After successful completion of the program, you can take up a career in fiel

Environmental science is a subset of Earth science. Earth science deals with the formation of the earth. Rocks, planets, mountains, volcanoes, earthquakes, all the natural events that create or destroy land, earth's crust, and continents. Environmental science deals with the environment. The air, plant, organisms and the relationships they have together.
Earth science is the overall classification (anything to do with the planet we occupy) ie geology, climate, environmental hydro-logical cycles etc, whereas environmental science could be seen as a branch of that as it deals mainly with climate, biodiversity ecology etc.
