GNM

There is no denying the difficulty of GNM courses. There is a lot of stuff to learn, the tests are challenging, the timetables are complicated, and the homework keeps coming. All of these elements could make life difficult for you as a student. The nursing field is quite competitive from the time you begin the application process until you graduate.

A lot of information and work is required for Nursing school. New issues present fresh opportunities for learning. Once you begin Nursing college, going to the doctor, viewing medical documentaries, and considering what to look for on a prescription label will all take on entirely new meanings.

This GNM is available for the candidates who have a wish to work in the medical field. The candidates who are willing to work as a nurse, midwife, or any assistant related to the welfare of the society must be engaged in a similar work, or else the candidates must join this course. Candidates willing to assist people with compassion for working to treat the people under medical personnel can surely join the GNM Nursing programme.
Qualifying examination having passed Class 12 with English and should have secured a minimum of 40% in aggregate also in the qualifying examination separately and also in English from any recognised board. Candidates who have been admitted to the National Institute of Open Schools can also apply provided that the institute is approved by the Central Government, State Open Schools duly recognised by the State Government.

First and foremost, any person holding a degree or diploma in Nursing, normally a course of at least three years duration, comes under the category of a staff nurse and is known as GNM. In other words, a staff nurse, or GNM, performs certain tasks as instructed by the doctors, like conducting deliveries and assisting in several other medical procedures.
ANM, however, though related to nursing, is different. Those who finish the almost-two-year course in ANM are not considered staff nurses because their scope of practice is much different; it largely involves fieldwork.
For GNM, the nurses are involved in clinical practice. An ANM does fieldwork or site-based responsibilities. ANMs take charge of immunizations, maintaining health pregnancy records, and registering other health-related records.
