Dear Muskan, To pursue IAS or UPSC exams the eligibility criteria is as such:
Educational Qualification: Candidate applying for the Civil Services 2019 exam is required to fulfil the following criteria: Candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree from any of the recognised universities Candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination and are awaiting results or those who are yet to appear for the qualifying examination are also eligible for the Preliminary Examination. Such candidates have to produce proof of passing the said examination along with the application for the Main Examination. Age Limits : A candidate should be a minimum of 21 years and maximum 32 years old as on August01, 2019. But he/she must have been born not earlier than August 02, 1987 and not later than August 01, 1998. Necessary action will take to make corresponding changes in respective Rules/Regulations pertaining to various services. I would suggest you to take degree which is easy and flexible to study. You need to devote alot of time to IAS studies so ensure you start preparing for it right away. So you can be prepared for the best.

Of course to appear for civil services a person should abide by these rules. A candidate should have a degree in any stream front any college recognised by government of India or by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University, under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification. A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on 1st August of the year of examination. Up to a maximum offive yearsif a candidate belongs to scheduled Caste (SC) or a Scheduled Tribe (ST). Up to a maximum ofthree yearsin the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC)who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates. The candidate must be a citizen of India to be eligible for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS), for other services, a candidate must be either:a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
