IAS comes from passing the civil services examination. The syllabus for civil services is quite vast and includes almost all subjects studied in school as well. When it comes to choosing a degree that coincides with UPSC Civil service exam, it would be advisable to go for Humanities subject. You may take a look at the UPSC notification this year, which elaborates the papers and syllabus for the exam. Any Humanities subjects like History, Geography, Sociology, etc. Could be helpful. But the degree subject does not determine the success in the exam. Please also refer to UPSC toppers' strategies for more information. All the best!

National Defence Academy is the academy which provides pre-commissioning training to those selected to join Army, Navy or IAF. It's not an engineering college. I am attaching a link that will give you all the required information about different aspects of the NDA.
