You should read books of NCERT of class 6th, class 7th, class 8th, class 9th, and class 10th.
Read daily newspapers. Give you best in your exam. Observe all the things happening around you.

Hi Mohith!
Civil services exams like UPSC are not really a tough exam to crack. Every year many candidates clear this exam in single attempt. It all depends how many mistakes you avoid during your preparation. It's easy if you make very few mistakes and follow right things consistently throughout preparation. All you need is following requirements:

1) B. S. Nautical Technology
2) B.Sc. Nautical Science
3) HND Nautical Science
4) Diploma in Nautical Science
The prerequisites to join a maritime course pertaining to the Merchant Navy are generally kept to the minimum, except the physical fitness and medical requirements. Now a days, most Public sectors recruie the candidates on the basis of GATE, like BEL, IOCL, BSNL etc. So, you can prepare for GATE, then you can apply for these companies, and then as per number of applications received, companies conduct written test/ interview. Another option is "engineering services" for which you have to prepare your subjects like digital electronics, signals, Digital signal processing, control system, Engineering Mathematics etc. So, focus on these subjects.

Below are the 2 important exams that you can apply as a Civil Engineer: 1. The very first and most sought after option for government Job is GATE exam. Through this exam you can get good government. Job opportunities and almost all PSUs in India have mandated GATE score/exam for jobs. A Naval officer starts his career as Sub Lieutenant and his starting salary:
Basic pay- Rs 15,600
DA- Rs 35,640
Kit maintenance allowance- Rs 600
Grade pay- Rs 5,400
MSP- Rs 6,000
TOTAL - Rs 63,240.

When you are in college, you can apply for NDA till you are in eligible age. When you are selected and you are in the merit list for NDA, Leave that College. You can keep College as backup. As if you are not selected for NDA and your chances for NDA are over, then continue your college and after completion of your course go for Graduate level entrance exams of armed forces. Good Luck, and I am sure will crack the NDA exam.
