MD Hospital/ DNB Hospital Administration is 3 years programme for MBBS graduate offered at selected Institutes across the country. AIIMS AFMC, Manipal are some of the best Institute for the same. Admission is based on PG medical entrance, except AIIMS NEET for all other Institutes. If you're very keen on going for Hospital Administration, I shall recommend you to go for ISB's MBA Healthcare administration. The advantage is one-year duration and acceptance across the globe. Also, it's the best business school in the country, so it will increase your perspective in terms of career growth. Maharashtra vs MBA vs MD in Hospital/ Healthcare Administration, I will strongly recommend you to go for an MBA from ISB, Manipal, Symbiosis, NMIMS, or IIHMR. The second option would be Maharashtra from TISS. I don't recommend MD as anywhere in the world, MD in Hospital Management course being offered. So, that will hamper your chance of going abroad. Also, 3 years duration is one more major concern for me, especially when all the top B-Schools are offering a better course in 1 year. Post MD/DNB/Maharashtra/MBA, you can join various departments of Pharma, Hospital, NGO, Consulting, Insurance, Medical devices, and FMCG companies. You can start as a manager in QA, Medico marketing, strategy, Business Development, Sales, Regulatory, etc. And may reach the CEO position. MD/ Maharashtra/ MBA Hospital administration post MBBS are very much in demand and one can start with a starting salary of more than INR 12LPA in the corporate sector. Thank you.

It is a very common that we mix up these two concepts- Hospital management and administration. People in hospital management are the executives having middle or low level authority in the hospital. They implement the policies and procedures that are formulated by the administration. The managers are responsible for smooth functioning of the hospital where they run the entire show. They manage the entire operations of the hospital and they have a direct contact with the patient. Whereas the hospital administrators are owners & decision makers managing the entire human resource of the hospital with no patient contact. They take care of the legal and government policies. The administrators are the planners, setting the policies and goals for the hospital where the managers are the executers of the action planned. The administrators focus more on the growth of the hospital which can be achieved through the managers. In India both of them scope is good. Thank you.
