In 2016, the Uttarakhand government created Himalayan Garhwal University (HGU), Pauri. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has approved of it. The eight faculties that fall under the purview of HGU Pauri's administration are:

Yes, Students must pass the Himalayan Garhwal University Entrance Examination (HGUEE) in order to be admitted to the MBA programme at the university. 

All programs have a set number of seats that are only available if the university's academic council gives their approval. Prior to the start of counseling, the number of seats is displayed on the university website. The Uttarakhand-based Maharaja Agrasen Himalayan Garhwal University retains the right to change the number of seats. Any of the academic programs may only admit the stipulated number of students.

No, CAT is not required for Himalayan Garhwal University. Interested candidates will have to go through the HGEE exam of the university to get admission in the university. Common Admission Test/Management Aptitude Test scores will also be considered for admission in MBA followed by a group discussion and personal interview.
