Graduation is not a compulsory requirement for becoming a pilot.
For becoming a commercial pilot, there is a specific eligibility criteria, which you should first be aware of. This is decided on what subjects have you taken in class 12th. It requires 50% in PCM to be a pilot. And, even if you have not opted for the same, then you can appear separately for these subjects and become eligible. I don't know about Hindustan, but Vel Tech is very good. When you talk about the classes, it is all like learning a lot of new things and there is a huge encouragement, good and positive guidance from faculty members in projects, etc.
Apart from studies, there are many cultural programs, events, camps for NCC and NSS candidates. Comparing both the institutions, Vel Tech is a good option. The only thing is Vel Tech will be very strict and will hamper the enjoyments of your college life, whereas as far as Hindustan University is concerned, they will not be as strict as Vel Tech.

For aeronautical Hindustan University is way better than SRM. Hindustan is famous for its aeronautical engineering courses all over the India and they have huge infrastructure and equipment to teach aeronautical engineering in the best way.
