Saurabh, Seeing the past years' cutoff lists of the college, you won't be able to get a seat in IIIT Allahabad, but still you can wait for the cutoff lists to come. If not IIITA, maybe you'll get some other good college.

Naveen11077, Average package doesn't remain fixed, so i can't tell you any exact figure. All I can say is that placements are pretty good, but are mainly into IT companies, and if you stay average you can expect a job of around Rs.7 lpa. But again I would say that nothing is fixed, people get more than this also and many get less also, so ultimately it depends on your knowledge and hard work and yes, if you are good you can definitely bag a decent package from here.

Shreya20709, Yes. I think that ECE in IIITA is better than CSE in Nirma, as the placements are good , but are mainly into IT companies, and also the course structure, campus, facilities are pretty nice. But you should take into account your branch preference, and other factors also which suit to your convenience. Average you can expect a job of around Rs.7 lpa.

Shrey35959, ECE has less scope in India. Many of the IITs also have withdrawn ECE. But it is definitely a good branch if you wish to pursue it further for higher studies and all. In IIIT Allahabad , ECE has a nice course structure, but placements are mainly into IT companies. No doubt a lot of ECE companies also come but mainly it's IT based.
And as far as the order of preference is concerned , according to me it goes as. NITKKR(IT)->IIITA(ECE)->NITJALAN(CSE)->PEC(ECE), and rest you can decide by considering other factors also like distance from your house, location, food etc.

The dual degree courses are relatively new and no batch has passed out yet. The first batch will pass out next year and that is when anything can be said about placements. However the students are taught along with the rest of the B.Tech and M.Tech students so the faculty, and all other things are of the same level. And the placements and all will surely be good since IIIT-A is known for its excellent placements.

It is certainly good if you want to go in the field of Bioinformatics or the allied lines in IT. However for the mainstream IT jobs , other dual degree branches or 4 year B.Tech in IIITA will be a better option, if you clear the cutoff for the same, that is.

The first batch of dual degree has not passed out yet so there are no clear placement statistics. But considering the fact that both the B.Tech and M.Tech placements are excellent and the Dual degree students are studying with the respective students only, placements as well as faculty is surely not going to be a problem at all.
