The Indian Institute of Information Technology Una (IIIT Una) was established in 2014. While it started functioning first from its mentor institutes campus that is NIT Hamirpur. The institute provides three B.Tech programmes namely- 1) Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) 2) Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) 3) Information Technology (IT) Admission is done on the basis of the rank scored by the candidate and cutoff rank for each branch. Hence, it is not permitted to take admission in two programs at a same time in IIIT Una.

The admission procedure of IIIT Una takes place every year after the JEE Mains and JEE Advanced exam has completed as the seat allocation process is done by JoSAA counselling and CSAB counselling post the JEE Advanced exam is completed.

For seeking admission in IIIT Una B.Tech, appear for JEE Mains conducted by NTA every year and secure a good rank in the exam. After the exam, there exists 2 types of counselling, JoSAA and CSAB. Hence, the eligibility includes;

1) aggregate score of 75% in BOARDS

2) Candidate must have appeared for JEE Mains exam and must have cleared the cutoff

3) The rank scored in the JEE Mains exam must be within the cutoff rank of the college.

4) If a candidate satisfies the above mentioned criteria then he/she is eligible to take admission in IIIT Una.

Yes, IIIT Una provides a hostel facility. Hostel accommodation is compulsory for the students of IIIT Una. There are 3 hostels, 2 for boys and 1 for girls. The rooms are allotted on the basis of roll numbers of students and on sharing basis in which 3 students share a single room. Each room has 3 cots, 3 almirahs, 3 tables, and 3 chairs for each individual. Hostel amenities include CCTV surveillance, water coolers, access to Hindi and English newspaper, and sports equipment.

Quality of any institute depends on the students be it IIT, IIIT, NIT etc. The Brand value they create depends upon factors like top class faculty members present, funds received from government etc. However such factors just ACT as catalyst initially, while the long term success depends only on the students. It's the students who execute the goals of the institute following the mentors advice. Brand value attracts good students which raises the bar of the institute gradually as time passes by.
