IISER Entrance Exam

The Seat Acceptance Fee is to be paid only after an offer of admission has been made to the candidate. The SAF will have to be paid as per the category entered by the candidate in the application.

• INR 35,000(INR 25,000 + INR 10,000, Non-refundable administrative fee) for General, EWS, OBC, OBC-NCL, PwD, KM/Kashmiri Pandit/Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) categories.
• INR 17,500 (INR12,500 + INR 5,000 (Non-refundable administrative fee) for SC/ST categories.
• Failure to deposit the SAF within the stipulated time will result in the cancellation of the order. Furthermore, you will not be considered in any subsequent rounds of seat allotment during admission.
• Once you register in your allotted IISER, this amount will be adjusted against your? First semester fee.

The syllabus for the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) generally follows the NCERT syllabus for Classes 11 and 12. This applies to the core Science subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. However, there are some key things to keep in mind:

Focus on Understanding: While the NCERT syllabus provides a framework, the IAT emphasizes a deeper understanding of scientific concepts rather than just memorizing facts.

Problem-Solving Skills: The IAT assesses your ability to apply your knowledge to solve problems. Practicing past years' question papers and mock tests can help develop these skills.

Go Beyond NCERT: The IAT might include some topics beyond the NCERT syllabus. Consulting reference books or online resources recommended for competitive exams can be beneficial.

In addition to the syllabus, the IAT 2024 exam pattern has been made available to all applicants by the authorities. The test is administered for three hours and consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). There are four areas of the test: arithmetic, physics, chemistry, and biology. The IAT is administered as a computer-based exam in locations all around India. The 60 questions on the IAT are divided into 15 questions each from the subjects of physics, math, chemistry, and biology. 180 minutes are allotted for answering the test. During their Class XII (or equivalent) test, candidates must have taken at least three subjects from the following categories: physics, mathematics, chemistry, and biology. Candidates who identify as SC, ST, or PwD must receive at least 55% of the possible points overall or a grade that is comparable in their class.

The computer-based IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) is an entrance exam for the several undergraduate programs provided by the seven IISERs, IISc Bangalore, and IIT Madras. Admission to seven IISERs, IISc, and IIT Madras undergraduate scientific programs (BS).Every admission is processed centrally. All applicants will take the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) in 2024, and IISERs admit students via a unified application process. All IISERs accept a single application form that is submitted via the application portal. During their Class XII (or equivalent) test, candidates must have taken at least three subjects from the following categories: physics, mathematics, chemistry, and biology. Candidates who identify as SC, ST, or PwD must receive at least 55% of the possible points overall or a grade that is comparable in their class.
