Yes, you are eligible for IISER. I have several students in my batch who are from PCB background. Of course, one always benefits of having studied PCMB till 12th. However, in our institute, in the 1st year, the students are encouraged to pick up courses from PCMB and EES as well. Hence, it would be good if one learns a little math or biology before coming to the institute in case you have not done it in 11th and 12th.

Hi there,
Well, yes you can write KVPY 2019 provided you have the required minimum percentage in your class 12th i.e. 60% and you must have had a minimum of 60% in your class 10th. Also, you need to be from the science stream and the minimum percentage must be from your science subjects including physics chemistry and maths/bio.

Yes, you can sit for KVPY-SX. KVPY has two sections, each section has 4 parts or subjects, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. You can attempt any three subjects in the first section and any two subjects in the second section. If you are studying both, biology and mathematics, you can attempt all the four subjects and the best of three will be selected. This is applicable only for students currently studying in class 12th, ie, KVPY- SX.

If you want to do engineering and want to appear in JEE, then you should have mathematics in 12th class. Medical students can not apply for it. If you want to do engineering, then you have to repeat your class 12th by giving only Maths exam, after that you would be eligible for giving JEE Mains. All the best.
