Yes Indian institute of space Science and technology is good as sree chitra thirunal college,Because as compared to college infrastructure, faculty and placements both are good, In IIST if students get CGPA 7.5 or more, then the isro is hiring directly and in SCTC the most of the placements are from IT sector, which is good. Both the colleges provide great placement opportunities to the students pursuing UG and PG courses in their respective colleges. IIST Kerala and IIT Bhubaneswar are prestigious institutes in India. As per the NIRF Engineering 2023 ranks, IIT Bhubaneswar ranks 47 and IIST ranks 48. Aerospace Engineering at IIST will help you get ready for ISRO; however, Civil Engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar will prepare you for various top MNCs. Choosing between these two branches is totally dependent on the candidate's preference.

No, just passing the JEE Advanced exam does not guarantee admission to the dual degree programme at Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST). In addition to qualifying JEE Advanced candidates are also required to meet the eligibility criteria specified by IIST, which includes minimum marks in Class 12 or equivalent qualifying examination, age limit, and other requirements. IIST is much better. If you want to work in ISRO. IIST is the best place. Isro also takes students directly from iist. If you want to work as scientist in Institutes like Aries, iucaa etc. Both iisc and iist will give you equal chances. IIST have better facilities for research. But iisc has better name. Do Ph.D. from any one of them. You will become great space scientist.

For the year 2020 , 112 marks ( 28.28 % ) out of 396 was closing marks in general category. But this marks will vary from year to year depending on paper difficulty and the students who applied for IIST. In terms of rank , you can have target of getting rank under 10k as of now.
Hope it helps.

Hello Dnyaneshwar, it's very nice to hear from you that you are interested in seeking admission in this premier institute that is sponsored by ISRO. As you must be aware, admissions here are based on scores of JEE advanced. The cut-off can be seen on the website of the institute.
Best wishes to you.
