Candidates with a valid score in the following exams: UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ JEST (or) GATE are eligible for the PhD at  the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology. Candidates must apply through the institute's official website. IIST offers PhD in regular, sponsored, and anytime mode. Specialisations covered under PhD are Aerospace engineering, Avionics, earth & Space Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Humanitites.

IIST-Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology offers MSc at postgraduate level for a duration of two years. MSc programme is offered under Master of Science in Astronomy and Astrophysics. Admission to the MSc course is merit basis. Canidates performance in the written test and Inteview are considered for selection. A valid GATE score is must for MSc admission. And fulllfill the eligibility criteria: bachelor's degree with 60% aggregate (General / EWS & OBC) and 55% (SC/ST & PwD).

Candidates must upload the required documents through the official website. Once the documents are uploaded it is verified and a provisional ADMIT CARD will be generated. Find below the list of documents:

  • Class 10 certificate if the date of birth is mentioned in it or birth certificate.
  • Class 12 (or equivalent examination) mark sheets
  • Category (EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PD) certificates.
  • Transfer Certificate from the institute last attended.
  • Candidate’s AADHAR Card.

The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) charges around INR 65,000 per semester for its M.Tech programmes. Approximately INR 21,000 is the cost for the OBC Category. Fees for SC/ST will be zero or less than those for OBC.

M.Tech at IIST - Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology is better than Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering. The students are placed in ISRO because of the excellent relationship between IIST and ISRO. In a variety of engineering specialties, SCTCE has a strong placement history with numerous companies. Comparatively speaking to SCTCE, IIST often charges greater tuition. But the organisation provides a range of financial assistance and scholarships.
