Every year in September, IIT Madras organizes a sports fest, an intercollegiate meet for local colleges in tennis, volleyball, basketball, hockey, football, table tennis, weightlifting and badminton.
- The tournaments hosted by IIT Madras are listed below:
- The Jimmy George Tournament for Volleyball
- Sanmar Tournament for Cricket
IIT Madras is also the part of Inter IIT Sports meet. It's an annual sports meet With over 3000 athletes participating from all 23 IITs, the event is the biggest and the oldest pan-IIT event.
