Presently, IIT Roorkee offers more than 65 UG, PG and doctoral degree courses.  It awards the degree of BTech, MTech, MSc, BArch, MBA, MSc, PhD along with a couple of integrated and dual degree courses in the fields of Engineering, Science, Architecture, Management and Social Sciences. IIT Roorkee has recently introduced two new postgraduate programmes (PGP), namely- Masters in Design (Industrial Design) and Masters in Innovation Management (MIM).

Yes, IIT Roorkee offers around three scholarships, including Merit-Cum-Means (MCM), James Thomason Scholarship, INSPIRE Scholarship IITR. Apart from this, the institute also offers several fee waivers and assistantships on need and merit basis. For more details, students are advised to visit the admission office or the official website of IIT-Roorkee.

The cutoff trend for B.Tech at IIT Roorkee - Indian Institute of Technology has been decreasing in the recent years. In 2022, the closing rank for B.Tech. under general category for all India quota was 413. In 2023, it decreased to 412. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 213 to 196 for OBC, 123 to 109 for SC, 60 to 61 for ST, 75 to 70 for EWS, 26 to 28 for PWD. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.

Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For general category under All India, opening rank was 396 and closing rank was 412. Cut off are differant when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 164 and 1165. Admission to B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering in IIT Roorkee - Indian Institute of Technology is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE Advanced. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying while checking for cut offs.

JoSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment result was out on June 30. For 2023, JEE Advanced cutoff is 16703 for the IIT Roorkee BArch course for the General category students. For female candidates in the general category under the All India quota, 20831 was the closing rank. 

For 2022 and 2021, the Round 1 closing cutoff was 17464 and 15122, respectively for the General category students. So, comparing the 2023 Round 1 cutoff with the previous years, IIT Roorkee witnessed a fluctuating trend for BArch.

IIT Roorkee cutoff trend for B.Tech has been increasing in the recent years. In 2022, the closing rank for B.Tech. under general category for all India quota was 6853. In 2023, it increased to 7100. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 2811 to 3026 for OBC, 1378 to 1626 for SC, 375 to 422 for ST, 1198 to 1229 for EWS. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.

IIT Roorkee - Indian Institute of Technology will release 6 rounds of JEE Advanced cutoffs for admission to B.Tech. The cutoffs will be released on a rolling basis, and the seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The cutoffs will be based on the following factors:

The JEE Advanced score of the candidate
The category of the candidate
The number of seats available in the course

Candidates must visit the official website of entrance exam to read clear instructions on how to proceed with the counselling process, once the round is released.

The cut off rank in Round 6 for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering is 412 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one can not afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting admission in IIT Roorkee - Indian Institute of Technology.

IIT Roorkee BTech cutoff 2023 ranks for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering other than General category are metioned below

  • 196 for OBC
  • 109 for SC
  • 61 for ST
  • 70 for EWS
  • 28 for PWD

While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE Advanced, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.
