This is a myth that state board students are weaker as compared to CBSE and ICSE ones. But the reality is strikingly opposite, in fact people from state board are going for IITs. So, don't get disheartened, prepare for it. As far as the eligibility is concerned you need to be in 20 percentile to get into IITs.

You need not to pay extra to your institute other than your regular fee if you switch to any IIT or any other college.

Hi,
Yes, you can take admission in IIT in variety of courses. Like, say, if you want to take admission in B.Tech then you have to appear in IIT JEE.
If you want admission in M.Sc then JAM exam:

If you want admission in M.Tech then GATE exam is there for entrance.

Well, both are equally good but if you want worldwide exposure and eager to learn many stuffs then go for SAT.

Well both are very different exams,but mainly in India scholars prefer IIT, because in SAT colleges are very expensive.

Generally, a rank under 700 for general, under 2000 for OBC and any rank for SC/ST candidate is the key of getting admission in old IITs. However, slightly higher rank students can also get admission in new IITs.
