We do have faculty from IIM and other reputed institutes. I don't think we have any permanent faculty from a foreign Institute. Major all our faculty is permanent with very few visiting guest faculty.

you should try to take admission this year in college as taking a drop is a huge decision and it's not a good story for everyone

Firstly I want to say that if you loved math then the best option for you . is, one IIT even if you have an interest in math then you can do it. but I think you should be fortunate for defense.

You have to give GATE and have to secure good rank. Focus on your engineering subjects and solve last ten year papers to get ideas. It's not a very tough exam although you required conceptual approach.
