No, BITS exam is easier than IIT. IIT exam is tough that every year around 15 lakhs candidate appear for it. The number of participants is directly proportional to toughness of the exam.

Devoting one full year for JEE examination preparation has its own merits and demerits. Dropping a year means that you will get sufficient amount of time to prepare for competitive exams. Prepare the basics well for IIT-JEE and keep trying the application based questions from reference books. Basics will help you to tackle board examinations. Practice previous year's board exam papers to get an idea about the exams.

Hello Rahul,
You can't opt for IIT directly after 10th. You need to complete 12th standard with Science (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) with a minimum of 75 percent, following which you need to appear for IIT-JEE Mains and IIT-JEE Advanced entrance examination. If you are able to clear the entrance examination with a good score and rank, then you can enrol into IIT.

IIT means Indian Institute of Technology and NIT means National institute of technology.
Students can get admission in by JEE Mains and JEE Advance exams.
To get admission in IIT or NIT, students first have to quantify JEE Mains according to cut off marks.
Then students are able to appear JEE Advance exam. If student clear these two exams with aggregate marks, he or she will be able to take admission in IIT or NIT.
Students can give these exams when they are currently in 12th science or after the completion of 12th science.
IITs and NITs are both controlled by central government.
