Eligibility criteria for B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) Degree Programme at NLSIU are as follows :
1. The candidate must have completed class 12 with at least 45% overall.
2. SC and ST candidates must have completed class 12 with an aggregate of at least 40%.
3. The candidate must clear the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).
4. Applicants must pass a higher secondary or equivalent exam with a minimum of 45 per cent (40 per cent for ST/SC candidates) in their first attempt.
5. Applicants must be under the age of 20.

Before completing the application form, candidates must meet the requirements for JIPMAT eligibility. The JIPMAT eligibility requirements for 2023 are listed in the space below:
- Applicants must pass the Class 12 exam in any stream or its equivalent in 2020, 2021, or when they reappear in 2023 with a minimum cumulative score of 60% (or more for candidates from SC, ST, or PwD).
