To secure admissison at IIT BHU for the BTech programme the aspiring candidates need to clear JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced. Once the score is out the candidates have to participate in JoSAA counselling round. To be eligible for the BTech programme the candidates need to have a minimum of 75% in Class 12. Finally, Admission is confirmed after document verification and fee payment.

IIT Varanasi accepts JEE Advanced scores to allow admission to BTech, BArch and other courses, . Recently. IIT Varanasi Cutoff 2025 for the Round 1 seat allotment results has been released by the institute, based on candidates' performance in JEE Advanced. As per the Round 1 cutoff data, the closing cutoff for various courses ranged between 1838 and 19019. The toughest course out of all was BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, with the last-round closing rank of 1838, for the General AI category candidates. As per the latest Round 1 seat allotment list for IIT Varanasi JAM 2025, the MSc programmes had witnessed a significant changes in cutoff ranks over the last three years. According to IIT Varanasi JAM cutoff 2025, the last round closing rank for MSc stood between at 308 and 365 in the General AI quota.
