This comparison depends a lot on the branch and your admission options. BHU has the advantage of being a highly established public institution with a strong academic reputation, so I wouldn't choose LPU automatically if you have a good B.Tech branch at BHU. However, if you're specifically comparing LPU CSE with a less preferred branch at BHU, I'd personally consider LPU CSE because it directly aligns with software, AI/ML, data Science and technology careers. LPU also provides extensive industry exposure, internships, hackathons and placement opportunities. For me, branch + career goal would matter more than simply choosing a university

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) only offers B.Com. (Hons.) and does not offer a standard B.Com. (General) program at the undergraduate level.

IIT BHU JEE Advanced cutoff 2026 ranged from 601 to 7870 in the first round for the OBC AI category. In the last round, the closing cutoff ranged from 601 to 9002 for the aforementioned category. Check the table below to know the Round 1 and last round closing cutoffs for different courses.

A good IIT JAM rank would differ depending on the category, branch and round. For the General AI category, the overall cutoff ranged from 328 to 507. Hence, a good rank could be somewhere around 300 for the General AI category. To know the estimated good enough rank for other categories, see the table below.
