Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For general category under All India, opening rank was 2119 and closing rank was 2119. Cut off are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 3968 and 4081. Admission to B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering in IIT Bombay - Indian Institute of Technology is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying while checking for cut offs.

For 2022, cut off was 2119 for General category candidates in All India quota for B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering in IIT Bombay - Indian Institute of Technology. For female candidates in general category under All India quota, 4081 was the closing rank. B.Tech cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant.

B.Tech DS from IIT Roorkee is the good option against the Dual degree from IIT Mumbai. However if your son is interested in research and higher studies, then can go for IIT Mumbai for dual degree course.

IIT Bombay - Indian Institute of Technology will release 6 rounds of JEE Advanced cutoffs for admission to B.Tech. The cutoffs will be released on a rolling basis, and the seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The cutoffs will be based on the following factors:
- The JEE Advanced score of the candidate
- The category of the candidate
- The number of seats available in the course
Candidates must visit the official website of entrance exam to read clear instructions on how to proceed with the counselling process, once the round is released.

The cutoff trend for B.Tech at IIT Bombay - Indian Institute of Technology has been decreasing in the recent years. In 2021, the closing rank for B.Tech. under general category for all India quota was 434. In 2022, it decreased to 369. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 274 to 304 for OBC, 128 to 135 for SC, 80 to 102 for ST, 117 to 114 for EWS, 52 to 38 for PWD. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.

The last year 2023 cutoff ranks for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Bombay - Indian Institute of Technology other than General category are - 58 for OBC, 27 for SC, 10 for ST, 20 for EWS, 5 for PWD. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.
