They are almost similar although just some difference of the subjects.
If you are not keen interested in computer languages & computers, I don't recommend B.Tech in CSE or IT because in today's world, there is a huge crowd of students in CSE and in near future there will be very tough competition in IT field.
So, think twice before taking CSE or IT.
Keep the below mentioned points in mind:
1. In most of the colleges first of all CSE seats are filled.
2. Most of the girls do engineering only in CSE, IT or ECE.
3. Intermediate commerce students have the option to do BCA, which makes IT field more competitive.
4. Almost each student wants to become computer engineer to get high package.
5. Other engineers like civil or mechanical also have the option to make career in IT field.
From all these points we can conclude that how much crowded IT field is, irrespective of the fact that IT is a vast field.

These days when it comes to any IT course (be it B.Sc or BE/B.Tech), students are a bit skeptic about its scope and the career prospects associated with it. Especially keeping in mind the things that occurred within the IT Industry after the recession, they are right to a certain extent. But the fact is that IT is still a field that boasts a healthy growth rate. IT graduates will have no trouble in landing decent jobs as long as they pursue IT courses from reputed Colleges/ Institutes/ Universities. Starting salary in general is around 15-30k INR per month.

So, it is safe to say that IT graduates may find jobs in this sector also. These days, IT directly or indirectly influences many areas of life, ranging from transportation to healthcare! So, in all these sectors, B.Sc IT graduates may find decent jobs! Also, using their skills, IT graduates may also start up on their own. Programming, Web designing, Software designing etc are some skills, using which, one may start ones own venture/freelance service/consultation service.
