Tamilnadu is a leading state in the field of IT. India's top 10 companies have development centres in Chennai. In addition, there are special IT parks and SEZs in few other cities. There are good opportunities for computer science and information technology graduates in the state of Tamilnadu. If you do graduation from a good college, you will definitely be able to get a good job in the state of Tamilnadu.

Syllabus of computer science and IT overlap between 80 to 90% in various universities. CS is the study of computers and computational systems. Computer scientists deal mostly with software and software systems. This includes their theory, design, development, and application. IT engineering is the application of CS for enterprises to meet business goals. CS graduates can easily do both Application and Systems development whereas as IT engineers are trained to work on the application development. Indian IT industry prefers CS graduates over IT because CS is branch taken by toppers in all engineering entrance examinations.

B.Tech in IT is one of the most chosen field in past 1 decade. Generally, IT companies recruit IT students. There are many startups in India which are still in initiation and growing phases, requiring IT support and need skilled IT consultant and engineers.

You are eligible to seek admission in MBA IT if you had above 50% marks in graduation degree. With MBA IT degree you can get job in IT and ITES companies in Pre-Sales support and BA roles in campus placement. With experience you can grow into Sales Marketing, Project Management and Account Management roles.

After B.Sc you can do M.Sc in information science for which you need to have maths as a compulsory subject in your 12th.

All the engineering entrance examinations are necessary.

You may get IT branch in lower NITs. You should try for the colleges like lNMIT and Thapar University which are equivalent to those of NITs.

You need to score around 150 marks for the first round.

There is not much difference between BCS and BIT. The majority of syllabus of both the degrees is similar with an overlap of up to 80 to 90%. BCS has more emphasis on theoretical concepts of computers science where BIT's emphasis is on the computer software application in the business enterprise. Both have similar acceptance for jobs and higher studies.
