IT industry is in the process of slow decline. The majority of Indian IT companies business is from North American companies. With outcry against outsourcing in the USA and visa restrictions, jobs have started outflowing back to the USA. Some of the western countries have also started following the USA. Although, it is good to be an IT qualified before seeking admission in MBA IT but most of the B-Schools allow all discipline graduates for this course. You are eligible to seek admission in MBA IT as a mechanical engineer. After MBA IT, you are eligible for presales support, marketing, account management and business analyst roles only in IT & ITES companies.

The eligibility criteria of BCA, B.Sc- CS & IT is pass in HSc with mathematics / computer science / computer application as a subject of study. That means H.Sc- commerce students who had studied the mentioned subjects are eligible for admission.
Some universities admit commerce H.Sc holders with business mathematics / statistics for BCA, B.Sc- CS & IT programmes whereas in some private universities, just H.Sc in any stream is enough to get admission.
BCA, B.Sc- CS & IT are the courses with similar subjects.
Please check the eligibility criteria of university in your jurisdiction.

Hi,
There are two ways of getting an admission in SRM University –
1. Merit quota
2. Management quota
CSE and IT are always most wanted and fill very fast. Even a 30000 rank will not be able to give you IT in main campus through merit quota. The merit quota fees is 1,80,000 + 15,000 /annum.
Now comes the other way.
Management quota-
The fees currently is 3,50,000/annum. You can apply for IT through management quota but you will have to pay more.
