Hi.
Ah, I see! You are a girl candidate from Maharashtra, and in the CAP counselling, you were allotted a seat under AI (All India) quota, but you want to know if you can get Maharashtra state quota / free education benefits. Let's clarify this carefully.
Understanding Seat Types in Maharashtra CAP
In Maharashtra, seats are allotted under several categories:
| Seat Type | Meaning |
|---|---|
| AI / All India Seat | Seats reserved for candidates from other states or “open” for all-India candidates. You are from Maharashtra, but sometimes due to rank and seat availability, Maharashtra candidates can get AI seats. |
| MS / Maharashtra State Seat | Reserved for Maharashtra domicile candidates (you qualify). This seat type is eligible for state fee benefits, scholarships, and free education concessions. |
Eligibility for Maharashtra Free Education / Concessions
Only MS / Maharashtra State Seats are eligible for state government fee concession / scholarship.
If you accept an AI seat, you will be treated as an AI candidate for fee purposes, so you may not get the Maharashtra free education

Hi.
With a PGCET (MCA) rank of ~1493 (General category) in Karnataka, you're in a reasonable position to get admission into a number of MCA colleges — especially in and around Bengaluru — though top tier ones (like RVCE/BMSCE/PES) typically require much higher ranks.
Colleges You Are Likely to Get with Rank ~1493
Mid‑Tier / Good MCA Colleges (Expected Cutoffs Higher than ~1493)
| College | Expected Rank Range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Dayananda Sagar College of Arts, Science & Commerce (MCA) | ~485 (top) — higher rounds go much beyond | Very popular Bangalore option. |
| CMR Institute of Technology (MCA) | ~2085 | Good private college with placements. |
| Acharya Institute of Management & Sciences | ~2395 | Bangalore option with decent academics. |
| Bangalore University – Jnana Bharathi Campus (MCA) | ~2095+ | University environment, labs, decent placements. |
| Presidency College, Bangalore | ~4870 | Lower fee option if seats remain. |
These colleges often have cutoffs around or above your rank in later rounds (Round 2/3) due to seats still being available. With plenty of vacant seats reported this year, chances improve.

Hi.
Yes, you are likely eligible for B.Sc IT even if you did not take Maths in 12th, because most colleges in India require either Maths or Computer Science / IT / Information Technology as a background subject for admission.
Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc IT
Minimum Qualification: 10+2 (HSC) or equivalent from a recognized board
Required Subjects:
Some colleges require Maths
Many others accept Computer Science / IT / Information Technology
Minimum Marks: Usually 45–50% aggregate in 12th for general category (your 76% is well above this)

The syllabus provides a general outline. Reviewing the Exam Pattern will help you decide which sections have more questions (like Math and Reasoning), allowing you to focus your deeper study efforts there.
