DTL (Diploma in Taxation Law) is a course that enables you to have deep insights into the rules and regulations related to taxation. It is a 1-year Diploma-level course. It also provides you with a basic understanding of taxation. The average salary received post the completion of the course ranges from INR 4 - 10 LPA. To get into a reputed university for the DTL course, candidates have to appear for university or state-level entrance exams. The duration and the eligibility of the DTL course vary from institute to institute. Candidates can also go for distance learning mode to pursue the DTL course. DTL admission is done based on merit for several universities. Only two universities conduct entrance examinations to pursue the DTL course. One is Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and the other Institute is Symbiosis Law Institute. All the other universities conduct admission based on merit. To pursue this course a student must complete a 10+2 examination from any recognised board. The subjects taught in this course are, direct and indirect tax, general laws affecting taxation, GST I, and GST II. DTL programme is a one-year full-time Certificate course.
