IPU CET (BTech) follows an NCERT-based syllabus covering Class 11 and 12 topics, whereas JEE Main includes NCERT concepts along with advanced topics. The question type in IPU CET is mostly conceptual and application-based, while JEE Main requires more analytical and problem-solving skills. In terms of difficulty level, IPU CET is considered moderate, whereas JEE Main is significantly more challenging. The competition level in IPU CET is also lower, as it is limited to admissions in GGSIPU-affiliated colleges, whereas JEE Main is a national-level exam with extremely high competition for NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs. No official booklist is provided, but NCERT books (Class 11 & 12) are strongly recommended for science-related courses. Additionally, reference books from Arihant, RS Aggarwal, and Disha Publications can help in preparation.

With a NIMCET rank of 7,431, securing admission to MCA programs at NITs is unlikely, as their closing ranks typically range between 500 and 800. However, your IPU CET rank of 349 is competitive. In 2024, the closing ranks for MCA at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University extended beyond this rank, indicating a strong chance for admission.  Therefore, it is advisable to participate in the IPU CET counseling process.

If you are appearing for the IPU CET entrance test for B.Tech Computer Engineering via lateral entry after your diploma, solving last year's question papers can be of great use. The papers will provide you with a sense of the pattern of the exam, the type of questions asked, and the level of difficulty. You can search for sample papers from coaching centers or use standard books on Diploma level covering topics in engineering mathematics, applied physics, and computer Science basics. Practice regularly, and reviewing major concepts will enhance your speed and accuracy.
